Nepal is renowned world over as the best destination for trekking. Numerous trekking trails have been opened in Nepal for trekking. Most of these trails are in the mountain regions and follow paths used by village people, cattle, and horses and for Trans Himalayan trade. The trails meander through scenic river-banks, terraced fields and the forests around the picturesque hamlets, and mountainous villages. The blossoming of rhododendrons and warm greetings from smiling local people are the main characteristics of Nepal. Trekking is possible round the year however, the most popular season is spring (February - May) and autumn (September-November). During the monsoon season (June- August), you can trek in the rain shadow, Trans Himalayan region such as Upper Mustang, Upper Manang and Dolpo.
