Phaplu – Namche Bazaar Trek

Phaplu to Namche trek is an short alternative trek to Everest region. Instead of Lulkla, the trek starts from Phaplu, which can be accessed via a directly flight from Kathmandu or a day's trek from Jiri. This was the route used by Tenzing and Hillary during their historic Everest climbing in 1953. The trail which forms lower part of Solukhumbu is rarely overcrowded and provides views of Makalu, Mera and Kusum Kangru.

You will pass through villages of Nunthala and Kharikhola where there is a mix of Sherpa, Tamang and Bahun communities. One you reach Lukla you will follow Dudh Koshi River passing through juniper forests all the way to Namche Bazaar. Along the way you will get great views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kantega, Thamserku etc.. Namche Bazaar is a vibrant city inhabited by Sherpa community with monasteries, bakeries, internet parlors, sleek restaurants, coffee pubs.
