Narphu valley trekking begins from Koto and moves along Marsyandi valley. Closed to trekkers until late 2002, very few westerners have explored in this area. This is a trek that combines remote villages, narrow canyons, lovely forests, ridiculous rock formations, yaks, gompas and unique Himalayan cultures. Nar and Phu are two of the most beautiful medieval Tibetan villages which are major attractions of this trek. Nar Phu is inhabited by people whose culture and lifestyle similar to what is found in Tibet.
The remoteness of the Nar Phu valley and its proximity to Tibet makes this journey the most rewarding. The region is rich in biodiversity with barren landscape in high altitude and lush forests in lower elevation. Snow leopard and blue sheep are two of its flag species. We visit both Nar and Phu villages and cross Kang La Pass located at an altitude of 5306m. Along the trek you will enjoy lovely views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Veering off from the main Annapurna trek route, the trail moves up to the beautiful Tilicho Lake, one of the highest wetlands in the Himalayas.
