Kanchenjunga trekking takes you on a complete circuit of Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586m), the third highest mountain in the world. It is a wilderness trek allowing you to travel to heart of wilderness and explore the magic of natural biodiversity and cultural heritage. The main highlights of the trek including visit north and south base camp of Mt. Kanchejunga located an astounding altitude of 5160m. The base camp opens up the towering face of Mt. Kanchenjunga and surrounding Kanchenjunga glacier. You will also hike up to Yalung glacier and Yalung base camp (4500m) and cross Mirgin La, Sirion La and Sele La pass (4290m).
At many points along the trek you will be able to capture spectacular mountain views such as Kanchejunga, Makalu, Domo Chang, Jannu etc. The traditional Nepali villages, picturesque terraced farms and the culture heritage of ethnic community of Rai (Limbu) who are nature worshippers will be equally mesmerizing.
The trail crisscrosses the Arun Valley which receives more rain during the monsoon than any other parts on this side of the Himalayan region. Mainly because of this the area has rich ecology of glaciers, forests, rivers, waterfalls, lakes and farmlands. The trekking trail crisscrosses Makalu Barun National Park, which is spread in an area of 1500 square kilometer of lush green forests and ecological diversity. The park hosts a rich diversity of wildlife including snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, musk deer red panda, Lophophorus, pheasant and red-billed blue magpie.
