Churen Himal is one of the peaks in the Dhaulagiri Himalayan range. The peak is located in western region of Nepal adjacent to the famous Annapurna trekking trail. The trail makes an impressive finish by hiking up to the base camp of Churen Himal at 4800m. The base camp offers splendid views of Churen Himal (7371m), Putha Hiunchuli (7246m), Dhaulagiri III (7715m) among others. All along the trek you could get sumptuous view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
The trail starts off from Beni, a small bustling town on the outskirts of Pokhara valley, slowly crisscrossing through picturesque villages, terraced fields and pine and rhododendron forests. Jaljala pass located at an altitude of 3650m is the only high altitude pass you will cross in this trekking.
The original ethnic inhabitants of this region are Magars and Chhetris with sparse population of Chantyals. Gurjagaon, Darbang, Sibang and Babiyachaur are some of the culturally rich and traditional villages you will stop over for some real ethnic experience. Part of the trail initially follows the Dolpo trekking route.
