We take our breakfast in the hotel at Kathmandu and drive towards Tribhuvan International Airport at around 8:30 am. We take 1 hour 30 minutes flight to reach Gonggar Airport of Tibet. While being on flight, we can enjoy the views of marvelous Himalayan ranges along with the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. It takes around 1 hour by driving to reach the Lhasa Market from Gonggar Airport. The amazing scenes of naked hills, settlement at bottom of hills, agricultural land full of crops entice our travelers with great excitement. Lhasa, situated at an elevation of 3600m is the administrative capital as well as the biggest city of Tibet. This city with wide road ways, sky kissing buildings seems equally advanced as that of developed western countries. Besides this, the palace of Dalai Lama: The Potala Palace, Zokhang Monastery at Bharkor Market, Bharkor market itself and Bharkhor Monastery are other attractive places to visit at Lhasa city.

The Potala Palace, chief residence of Dalai Lama lies at the middle part of Lhasa city and it is situated in a place at 150 meters height. Meditative office building and Administrative office building centers at this palace. Here, The Red Palace symbolizes meditation whereas The White Palace expresses transparent administration. In Tibetan language, the word 'Lhasa' means 'The Land of Gods and Goddesses'. The Red Palace is adorned with different varieties of magical Buddha idols of Buddhist religion and there are Meditation Room, Living Room, and Meeting Room for foreign guests of Dalai Lama in The White Palace. The two sacred rivers namely, The Lhasa and The Brahmaputra have their adjoining point at Lasha. According to Buddhists, 'Nirvana' meaning ultimate salvation is the reward of having divine view (Darshan) of Potala Palace and Zokhang Monastery. The gold plated entombment place of 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th Dalai Lama is at Potala Palace. All these are clearly visible besides 13th Dalai Lama's. Also, Entombment place of 6th Dalai Lama is yet mysterious. Experts say that the cremation rites of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Dalai Lama was performed at Zokhang Monastery and then the remaining ashes were kept safely there. The Potala Palace have ten thousand rooms among which only a few are open for general public such as, Bed Room, Living Room, Study Room, Meeting Room and The Entombment Place of Dalai Lama. The current 14th Dalai Lama fled to India during the 1959 Tibetan Uprising.
